Georgian olives will be exported to the US and Europe   

The Minister of Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili got acquainted with the process of production and reprocessing of olive harvest in the village of Sakobo, Sighnaghi region.

According to the owner of the enterprise, Giorgi Svanidze, Georgian olive products are popular in the local market. In the nearest future the company plans to export products in America, Europe, Transcaucasia and Commonwealth of Independent countries.

The olive gardens and reprocessing enterprise in the village Sakboo were created with Dutch-Turkish investment and "by co-financing of agricultural production reprocessing enterprises".

In the enterprise, where 800 people are employed, the total amount of investments made is 5 million GEL.

The Governor of Kakheti region, Irakli Kadagishvili said that this sector is actively developing in Kakheti and there are already crop on about 200 hectares in olive gardens.
