Georgian Olive Harvest


Tbilisi (GBC) - The company owns olive plantations in the area of 300 hectares in Sakobo. From the obtained crops by cold distilling method is received olive oil.. The company also produces soap with the same raw material.

"In the last 5-6 years, dozens of successful enterprises have been created within the state targeted programs. We are now in such enterprise where the continuous cycle of the chain of the values is going on. Olive primary products are produced, as well as olive reprocessing, that is very popular in local and foreign markets, "said Yuri Nozadze, Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture, who attended the harvest.

Olive plantations were planted on 300 hectares of land in Sakobo seven years ago, and the Olive Reorocessing Plant was created in 2016 by Dutch-Turkish investment and the project "Co-financing of Agricultural Production Processing enterprises".

The project, the total investment cost of which is about 5 million GEL was carried out by the businessman Giorgi Svanidze.
